CLAY + COLOR.

Inspired by the simplicity of Midwestern prairies and winter landscapes of my childhood, I combine organic designs and bold color on handcrafted ceramics.  My pieces are built by hand using molds and slabs, with unique carving to create texture and surface depth.

Moving to Portland, Oregon from Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1999, I traded snow for rain and immersed myself in the crafty culture of this creative city.  Building on a BFA from Saint Mary’s College, I continued my study of ceramics at the Oregon College of Art and Craft.  

I currently create my pieces in a converted studio space in my backyard in the North Portland neighborhood of St Johns.
